Big Brother returns... with Charlie Sheen?!

Well I was just casually browsing news websites, you know as you do. And I stumbled across an article from the dailymail stating that the UK reality show 'Big Brother' could be back as early as August THIS year on Channel 5!
This has surprised me not because it's happening because I knew Channel 5 were in heavy talks of picking up the show despite its slow decline in popularity on Channel 4, but because it's as early as this year. I fully expected Big Brother to be gone at least 2 years before an attempt at giving a second life to it.
I can't help but think this would have been a smarter move as it would give the public a break and more time to miss it. I watched Big Brother, but watched it casually and I was personally looking forward to a grand return in a few years for everyone to get excited about... I just can't shake the thought that this is being rushed.
So what's the plan? Well now Channel 5 are in complete control of Big Brother, they are planning on broadcasting a 4 week celebrity special in August to kick off the proceedings and word is they are desperate for Charlie Sheen to make an appearance and as funny as this will be and amazing television, good luck trying to get a man who wants millions of dollars per episode of a sitcom. There's every chance he might do it for shits and giggles because he's just that kind of unpredictable guy... hey we can only hope!
It seems Channel 5 have secured a 5 year set deal for the show, so we'll have a fair dose of whatever style Big Brother they cook up in productions.
The celebrity show towards the end of the year will be followed by a more standard of Big Brother 13 week show with members of the public taking part running from September to the end of the year.
If you'd like to take a look at the original article from the dailymail website about this turn of events, you can do so right here!

Batman? ..Batman you say!?

With roughly 200 days until its release, Batman Arkham City is a fair way off. But even still this is one game I couldn't be much more excited for.
The original 'Arkham Asylum' game released in 2009 and was a massive success and had everyone going crazy for a Batman game that actually did justice to the darker, broodier Batman style which has been so successfully represented in Christopher Nolen's representation of the caped crusader.
Arkham City has most of its villains announced or so it's believed, we'll be treated to squaring up to the Joker again of course, shown in the teaser trailers to be still healing from the wounds inflicted to him by Batman at the end of 'Asylum' and also the return of the ever popular Harley Quinn, this time clad in a far more street look I guess you could say. Joining Joker and Harley on team nasty are Two-Face and the mad scientist Hugo Strange along with the Riddler. Another character popping up in the mix is going to be Catwoman, it's unclear how much fighting her we'll be doing as it looks as though she'll be a playable character online so you can duo up with a friend to glide around what looks to be an absolutely stunning massive open plan Gotham City.
I can't wait to see how we'll see a return to the Riddler and his challenges, as let's be honest they can't be left out can they? And I'm more than pleased they've been confirmed for the second game, it should just be interesting to see what kind of changes will be made to the challenges mix.
I'd be stunned if more popular villain names didn't crop up in the coming months, a lot can be revealed in 200 days and I don't think the developers 'Rocksteady' are through teasing us with tasty treats just yet.
It looks as though the game has gone for a very close adaptation of 'The Dark Knight' take on Two-Face which i'm glad to see as I think the darker and more gothic the look gets with Batman, the better.
Here is a little exert about what the game story and plot will cover, it sounds immense.

The story for Arkham City takes place about one year after the events of Arkham Asylum. Quincy Sharp, former warden of Arkham Asylum has taken credit for stopping the Joker and used the notoriety to become mayor of Gotham City As neither Arkham nor Black Gate Prison are in any condition to detain inmates, Sharp buys out a large section of Gotham's slums and arms the perimeter with private military contractors from a group called Tyger in order to create "Arkham City". The prisoners are brought into Arkham City and are given free rein, as long as they do not attempt escape. To oversee the city, Sharp hires psychiatrist Hugo Strange who appears to have his own secret agenda for the city. Batman maintains a vigil over the city, worried that the situation may get out of hand. Part of the setup for "Arkham City" was contained in plans in a hidden room in Sharp's office in Arkham Asylum.
The events of the game are set in motion when Two-Face seeking to gain status among the inmates and other villains outside the city, devises a plan to publicly execute Catwoman Batman decides for both the safety of Gotham and of his past relationship with Catwoman that he must stop the execution by entering Arkham City himself.

So it sounds like we can expect a sort of 'Sona' from Prison Break (if you followed that show) style city layout which Batman is just going to be gliding around in, beating the pulp out of thugs as he goes. I was wondering how they were going to justify an enormous amount of convicts suddenly just owning Gotham, but I think it sounds like they have given it some good thought and I'm sure the story will flow pretty well. There's a lot to live up to after the success of the first game but I actually have no doubt this will deliver and I'm more than ready for it!

Kicking off the show... with Capcom and The Governator.

Well, this is my first blog post. Ever. Exciting no? I think so.
Seems I may as well find something interesting and fun to bitch about so I actually have a first topic, and I'm thinking a recent thing I read which really wound me up would be a good place to start.

I'm pretty into my media- (movies, music & games) and I like to keep up with the news on the releases and titles I particularly enjoy. One such piece of news I read just yesterday was to do with the eagerly awaited Xbox and PS3 game Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. I don't own the game myself but love the premise, the mix of two popular franchises and I've been thinking about buying it, however I stumbled across another blog post which stated some coding on a copy of the game had been hacked into and that two unreleased characters names ('Frank', believed to be Frank West of Dead Rising and 'Dr. Octopus' of Spiderman) were listed within the games coding already... Why is this a bad thing? Well because Capcom already released the game with two characters which you needed to BUY upon release (Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath) ...I mean paid DLC upon release? That's a bit shitty. And now two further characters have been revealed to be in the inert fibres of the game already, essentially giving away the fact that Capcom could bloody well have released the game with four more characters than they did and have basically just chosen to shaft the fans for extra revenue even after they have shelled £40 or $60 (depending where your from) for the title. To me a game like this is all about the characters, the previous in the series boasted 56 I believe and now players are being forced to pay extra to fully enjoy aspects of the game which should have been included from the get go... very cheeky if you ask me. Of course it could end up that these are two characters which were begun in development and then axed for whatever reason although I really doubt it, we'll just have to wait and see if these two pop up as DLC in the coming months.

Next, I'll talk about a new TV show I heard about just the other day, namely... The Governator!
I actually couldn't believe this when I read it, but it must be legit as it was on BBC news and announced on Entertainment Weekly.
So the word is Arnold Schwarzenegger is involved in a new action-comedy show designed in an authentic animated comic book style. The show is being developed by Marvel legend Stan Lee and word is Schwarzenegger is involved in the development too. The Governator character is inspired by and going to be voiced by Arnold himself and I'd imagine this it's going to end as a cross somewhere between American Dad and Iron Man, either way this turns out I think I'm going to have to give this one a look... I mean what's not to love about the idea of this thing... it's incredible, I just love the way Arnold is basically taking the absolute piss out of himself with this, he knows what his fans want now he's done by enlarge politically, teasing us on the big screen once again in 'The Expendables' and as a CGI cameo in 'Terminator: Salvation' and now he's delivering to the masses with this tongue in cheek animated venture.
The Governator will also be cooked up into a comic book for all you avid readers so be ready across platforms for an absolute onslaught of bad puns, memorable yelling and I can only hope for classically Schwarzenegger cheesy kills.
If you want to take a look at the official first post about this project, take a gander at This entertainment weekly exclusive article.

Well that about sums it up for my first little blog, not so bad was it?
But, before I forget;
Why T-Rex Logic you might be asking?

Because who doesn't love a T-Rex's logic? They Rarr.
